TRAVEL INFORMATION As a conference attendee, we invite you to make your travel arrangements through the UCLA Travel Center. Although there are many airlines that serve the Los Angeles area, the UCLA Travel Center may be able to provide discounts on selected airlines. The UCLA Travel Center can also provide car rentals at reduced rates. You may contact the UCLA Travel Center in the following ways:
We recommend that attendees fly into the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The airport is approximately 12 miles from the UCLA campus. Driving time from LAX to UCLA is approximately 20 in light traffic conditions and longer when traffic is heavy. Approximate rates for airport transportation are: shuttle (approximately $15.00/person) one-way, and taxi (approximately $25.00) one-way. The UCLA Travel Center recommends Prime Time Shuttle for transportation between LAX and the UCLA campus. Visit www.primetimeshuttle.com or call 1-800-Red Vans for reservations and information. Prime Time Shuttle offers a UCLA rate of $15.00 one-way between LAX and the campus (2004 special rate). Be sure to ask for the current "UCLA special rate" when reserving this shuttle transportation. Car Rentals The UCLA Travel Center can provide car rentals at reduced rates for all conference attendees. You may also call the following car rental companies directly: Hertz Car Rental USA: 1-800-654-3131 (use CD-71596) Alamo Rent-A-Car USA: 1-800-732-2322 (use CD-75796) Maps and Directions to UCLA: The UCLA campus is easily accessible from the 405 freeway by taking either the Sunset Boulevard or Wilshire Boulevard exits. Once you've exited the freeway, head east on either Sunset Boulevard or Wilshire Boulevard and enter the campus at either Bellagio Drive (from Sunset Boulevard) or Westwood Boulevard (from Wilshire Boulevard). Once on the campus, signs provide additional directions. All vehicles parked on campus (except in metered parking areas) must display a valid UCLA parking permit. If you plan on staying at UCLA, please pre-purchase your parking permit valid for the duration of the conference, on your Housing Registration form. Commuters can purchase daily parking permits at the IEDTA Registration desk or at parking kiosks throughout the campus. PARKING AT UCLA All vehicles parked on the campus (except in metered parking areas) must display a valid UCLA parking permit. If you will be staying in UCLA housing during your conference, please pre-purchase your parking permit, valid for the duration of the conference, on your Housing Registration form.
