I am delighted to invite you to Los Angeles, California, to participate in the Third International Congress of IEDTA. Here, on the beautiful UCLA campus, a renowned international faculty will teach the organizing principles of Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.

The goal of Freeing the Self: Working with Core Emotions in Dynamic Therapy is to demonstrate the effectiveness of evolving experiential dynamic therapies by analyzing the common factors, as well as the differences, of successful STDP models.

The conference faculty will use videotaped patient cases to illustrate the dramatic symptomatic and character changes that occur in STDP's exploration of intense, deeply experienced emotions. Small-group workshops will further showcase the diversity of STDP techniques and methodology.

One highlight of the conference will be welcoming distinguished guest, David Malan, DM, FRCPsych from Parkers Close, England. A respected researcher and founding father of short-term therapy, Dr. Malan will present the plenary address of the weekend and will receive The IEDTA Career Achievement Award.

Lectures, workshops, accommodations and dining are all conveniently located in UCLA's Sunset Village. This facility offers high-speed Internet access, on-site parking and recreational amenities, such as exercise equipment, outdoor swimming pools, and tennis courts.

For families traveling with participants, there are many area attractions to visit during busy conference hours. Exciting museums, world-class shopping, sandy beaches and glamorous Hollywood make Los Angeles a wonderful city to explore.

The Third International Congress of IEDTA will be an outstanding conference and I look forward to welcoming you here in September.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Neborsky, M.D., FAPA
